Experimental Pseudomonas Keratitis

Abstract
We describe an experimental superficial trauma Pseudomonas keratitis model which is simply reproduced and mimics the human infection more closely than the intrastromal model. It is especially useful in studies of bacterial keratitis when therapy trials are undertaken and pharmacokinetics may be important, or where mechanisms of disease are being evaluated. The natural course of the untreated infection is described and correlated with light- and electron-microscopic observations.
