Abstract
Pertinent studies on brains of monkeys and patients treated for brain tumors with a dose range between 1500 and 14,000 r for 23 Mev X-rays, and 900 to 8400 r for 250 KV X-rays are reported. Considerable radio-responsiveness of the brain in both men and monkeys was ascertained; the observed effects were due to direct action of ionizing radiation on brain cells. A very definite radiosensitivity of white substance was noticed in the adult animal. Keywords
