Long-Term Effects of a Nursing Home Education Project

Abstract
A survey was conducted by a mental health center to determine the effects of a nursing home education project 1 year after it ended. The project had two parts: (1) to teach mental health professionals and nursing home staff how to set up effective in-service education programs in nursing homes and, (2) to teach nursing home staff mental health principles through a series of workshops and seminars. Analysis of successes and failures revealed by the follow-up questionnaire can guide future efforts of this type.
