Abstract
This survey considers five themes central to the topic of food habits and their nutritional consequences: (a) the development and evolution of diet; (b) antiquity of nutritional diseases; (c) pica; (d) religion and diet; and (e) toxic foods. Data from cultural, medical, and nutritional sources reveal pathways for cross-disciplinary research. Keywords
