Abstract
The numbers of the 5 most common insectivorous passerines, wren Troglodytes troglodytes, stonechat Saxicola torquata, goldcrest Regulus regulus, Dartford warbler Sylvia undata and meadow pipit Anthus pratensis, on a Dorset, England health were described from results of weekly censuses over 2 yr. Gorse Ulex europaeus was very important to these birds in spite of its overall scarcity.
