Abstract
No prognostic factors could be identified that influence survival in patients with small cell lung carcinoma undergoing traditional therapy. These findings identified small cell carcinoma as a distinct disease entity with reference to nonsmall cell carcinoma, a nonsurgical disease and a disease demanding systemic treatment.
