Abstract
The near basal heart rates of 24 normal unapprehensive dogs that had been without food for 12 hrs. and had rested quietly for 60 mins. ranged from 50-56 beats per min. Bilateral removal of the stellate and upper 5 thoracic ganglia from. 10 of these dogs failed to result in an appreciable change in this basal heart rate. This is evidence opposed to the general idea that the accelerators are in a constant state of tonic activity. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
