Abstract
Of 244 cases of hypertension treated medically, a 31% mortality occurred in a period of 5-10 yrs. Peet et al. report a 30.5% mortality in 350 patients with similar criteria of hypertension treated surgically. It is doubtful whether specific surgery alters the course and prognosis in hypertension.Keywords
