Abstract
This symposium represents a turn toward the case. In creative work, symbols occur within the double context of sociohistorical background and the personal projects of the creating individual. To understand a set of symbols produced in the course of such an effort, they must be considered in relation to each other and to both of these contexts. These requirements call for the use of the case study method. Keywords
