Abstract
The statistical mechanics of two classes of two-dimensional domain walls including the honeycomb structure is discussed. Particular attention is focused on their structure factors, free energies, and phonon dispersion relationships. Relevance of these to recent developments on the commensurate-incommensurate transition is pointed out. The possibility of a dislocation unbinding transition in the incommensurate phase close to the commensurate-incommensurate transition is discussed. Keywords
