Prospects for High-Frequency Irrigation

Abstract
Systems meeting the requirements for high-frequency irrigation range from solid-set or travelling sprinkler to drip or trickle to small basins periodically filled with water. Sprinkler and drip systems require considerable investments. Basin type systems are largely applicable to sparsely planted crops such as orchards. Such systems prevent waterlogging and salinity problems common to surface irrigation and result in significant savings in fertilizer.
