Abstract
Summary 1. Ehrlich Mouse Ascites Carcinoma (EMC) was freed from an endogenous LDH virus by passage in tissue culture, and subsequently carried virus-free for 27 generations in mice. 2. Plasma LDH was from 10- to 40-fold elevated in mice carrying the stock infected tumor. Over 90% of mice carrying the virus-free tumor, however, had normal plasma LDH levels. 3. Growth rate of the virus-free tumor was accelerated by the LDH virus from Ehrlich Mouse Carcinoma itself and also by LDH agents isolated from DBA/59 mammary carcinoma and CD/5 lymphoma. It is suggested that the virus may depress host resistance to the tumor. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
