Abstract
Since the finding of the 1st mutant allele of extra toes, Xt, in the control series of a radiation experiment with the mouse, Mus musculus L., there have been 6 reoccurrences, most probably radiation-induced. One allele, Xt3H (=Bph), was distinguishable from the original in both heterozygous and homozygous state, and Xt4H was distinguishable when homozygous. The remainder was indistinguishable from Xt. Linkage tests showed that the locus of Xt was in linkage group XIV, and the order of loci was cr - Xt - f - pe, with recombinations: cr - Xt, [female] 1. 85[plus or minus]0. 65, [male] 0. 62[plus or minus]0. 44; Xt - f, [female] 22. 7 [plus or minus] 2. 40, [male] 19. 2[plus or minus] 1. 79; Xt - pe, [female] 42. 7[plus or minus]2. 21, [male] 30. 1 [plus or minus] 2. 48.This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
