Abstract
Pseudovitamin B12 is essentially as active a growth factor as vitamin B12 for B12 E.coli; it also similarly spares the requirement of a p-aminobenzoic acid auxotroph. Since the pseudovitamin lacks a benzene ring, the suggestion that p-amino benzoic acid might be a structural precursor of B12 must be withdrawn.
