Abstract
An analysis of antiferromagnetic screw-type structures in a three-dimensional electron gas is given, using a self-consistent field method. It is shown that a screw-type state appears to be always unstable. The expression for the susceptibility of an electron gas found by Wolff is also obtained with this method. Keywords
