Abstract
Thirty-nine [male] crania have the following means: maximum length, 168.25 mm.; maximum breadth, 147.79 mm.; cephalic index, 87.89; basi-bregmatic height, 135.96 mm.; vertical index, 80.84; basi-nasal length, 96.44 mm.; basi-alveolar length, 93.52 mm.; orbital breadth, 38.56 mm.; orbital height, 33.65 mm. The closest resemblance is with Tildesley''s Burmese A crania. Type contours are given. "The Hylam Chinese are the product of the blending of Chinese proper from the northern provinces with the aboriginal Les, whose affinities are with the Shans. . . . Perhaps the most remarkable feature of the Hylam head in the living subject is the marked flattening of the occipital region, the back of the head making a straight line with the back of the neck.".This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
