Predictors of treatment response and course of schizophrenia

Abstract
Given the heterogeneous course and outcome of schizophrenia, predictors of treatment response and prognosis could serve an important role for clinicians. Promising findings in terms of measures that are correlated with treatment response and outcome are reviewed. These measures include historical and clinical as well as biological variables. Further research, however, is needed to facilitate the application of many of these predictors to clinical practice.
