Abstract
Commonly used electrochemical methods of determination of characteristic potentials for pitting are briefly described and compared. The possibility to predict an “absolute” and/or relative pitting resistance of a material from measurements of the characteristic potentials is discussed. Factors and parameters affecting the measurements are summarized.Keywords
