A Modified Greenwich Night-Cloud Recorder Used for Ecological Work

Abstract
A simple instrument is described for automatically recording on a photographic film the duration of cloudiness at night over the north star. On a clear night the north star forms a clear arc on the film, but on partly or entirely cloudy nights this arc is broken or obliterated so that the amount of cloudiness may be measured to within a few minutes'' error.
