Abstract
The Wide Band Spectrometer (WBS) will be flown on the Solar‐A satellite to observe a flare photon spectrum from soft X‐rays to gamma‐rays. The WBS consists of three spectrometers: a soft X‐ray spectrometer of a gas proportional counter covering the 2–30 keV band, hard X‐ray spectrometer of a NaI scintillation counter covering the 20–400 keV band and gamma‐ray spectrometer of two BGO scintillation counters covering the 0.2–100 MeV band. The details of the spectral capabilities of the Wide Band Spectrometer are described.
