Abstract
This paper examines the closest and best known of the ‘insider’ pressure groups-the National Farmers' Union. The Parliamentary Director of the NFU stresses that there is nothing to be taken for granted from the NFU's point of view. Influence varies issue by issue and progress in the pursuit, of NFU goals depends on political skill, perseverance-and simple luck.Keywords
