Abstract
A temperature-sensitive mutant of Escherichia coli has been found in which the conditional growth is a result of a thermosensitive glutaminyl-transfer ribonucleic acid synthetase. The corresponding genetic locus glnS is cotransduced with lip. In a strain containing the mutationally altered glutaminyl-transfer ribonucleic acid synthetase, no derepression of the enzyme itself nor of glutamine synthetase was observed. Keywords
