Abstract
Circular light-colored bodies were observed with phase contrast at all ends of Gossypium herbaceum pachytene chromosomes. The tentative name of spherosome is suggested. Smaller darker - staining bodies could be located at the sides or in the center of the spherosomes. Interstitial circles were also seen. Fifteen other species also contained spherosomes. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
