Abstract
With the increase of rapid air transportation to and from remote countries, isolated cases of diseases that were generally confined to remote regions can now present themselves to physicians at any moment at any point on the globe. Because of the physician's unfamiliarity with the strange disease, the recognition and identification of its causative agent may prove difficult at times. This report deals with a case of tropical myiasis which presented itself in New York City. Report of Case A 70-year-old male white native citizen of the United States consulted me because of a pruritic rash of three days' duration. He had been in Tanganyika for a few days and had been bathing at the seashore four days before his visit to my office.
