Abstract
A field-induced metamagnetic transition has been observed in the valence fluctuating intermetallic compound Yb x In 1- x Cu 2 (0.25≦ x ≦0.55) around 300 kOe at 4.2K. The temperature dependence of the susceptibility for the samples with 0.25≦ x ≦0.6 has also been measured. It is shown that the metamagnetic transition is correlated closely with the Yb-valence transition observed at about 40 K in the susceptibility measurement. Keywords
