Abstract
Summary 1. (1)25 patients, including 3 with cerebral malaria, were treated with Daraprim. Rapid clinical and parasitological cure followed, though gametocyte production was not prevented. 2. (2)Treatment was with 50 mg. in a single dose for adults and proportionately smaller doses for children.Only one patient with cerebral malaria required a second dose, the total dose given in this case was 100 mg. 3. (3)Infections included in the series were 16 with P. falciparum, 2 with P. vivax, 1 with P. ovale, 1 mixed P. ovale, P. malariae and P. falciparum, and 5 mixed P. malariae and P. falciparum parasites.Keywords
