A Comparison of Antisera against Thymocytes, Lymphocytes and Subcellular Fractions in Rats

Abstract
Comparative studies were done in inbred rats with antisera against lymphocytes, thymocytes and subcellular fractions using two immunization methods. The cellhomogenate was separated into 4 fractions. Antisera against mitochondrial-granular fractions and total cells yielded strongest immunosuppression and highest lymphocytotoxic titers. Toxicity was higher when antisera were produced with total cells than with subcellular fractions and when adjuvant was used.
