Abstract
Culture fluids of 52 strains were examined for their activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium phlei strains 1 and 2. Only 10 were completely inactive. Pure antibiotics from 9 strains were found to be both bacteriostatic and bactericidal, were active against Mycobacterium and, to a lesser extent, other Gram-positive forms. They were ineffective against Gram-negative bacteria and fungi tested. Keywords
