Magnetic moments of baryons in broken spin-unitary-spin symmetry

Abstract

We discuss the symmetry-breaking effects on the magnetic moments of uncharmed baryons in the SU(6) framework. The recently observed low value of the magnetic moment of

Σ^{+}

is found to be compatible with the magnetic moments of

Λ

and

Ξ^{0}
