Abstract
Inter-relationships between higher nervous function and visceral activity and adaptation and homeostasis are discussed. Current Soviet methodologies for studies of neurophysiological response, a classification of neurophysiological testing methods presently in use in the USSR, conditioned reflex and neurophysiologic behavioral tests, and types of conditioning programs are described. A synthesis of the Soviet view of the early changes in neurologic behavior as caused by chemical intoxication is presented.
