Abstract
This article describes a new program designed to prevent the marginalization of educational dissemination within the context of national education reform efforts. In 1991, the Subcommittee on Select Education in the U.S. House of Representatives recommended establishment of a District Education Agent program comparable to the agricultural extension service. This article discusses the initiative and explores how such a community-based dissemination program might incorporate new technological capabilities. Keywords
