Abstract
We have observed relaxed emisson from the S1 (Q band) of ferrocytochrome c following laser excitation into S2 (B band). The quantum yield for this process is found to be φBQ = 5.0×10−7. A simple kinetic analysis is employed in order to deduce intermanifold branching ratios of the ferrocytochrome. Assumptions regarding the variability of the nonradiative decay rate within the Q manifold are also discussed.(AIP)Keywords
