Abstract
A selective medium for the isolation and enumeration of oral fusobacteria was described. Selective agents used are crystal violet and streptomycin, at 1100,000 dilutions, which effectively inhibit the growth of most concomitant bacteria in human saliva. Using any one of these three enriched media, strains representing 3 major spp. of the genus Fuso-bacterium (F. nucleatum, F. plautivincenti, and F. polymorphum) were isolated from human saliva. Keywords
