Abstract
Substituting one monoamine oxidase inhibitor for another is recommended only after a drug-free interval to avoid hypertensive emergencies. The evidence and mechanism firmly supporting this caution is lacking. We report a case where monoamine oxidase inhibitors were substituted without apparent adverse consequences. Keywords
