Phase tracking Viterbi demodulator

Abstract

A novel demodulation scheme is proposed for simultaneously accomplishing carrier tracking and data sequence estimation with the Viterbi algorithm. Its BER performance and synchronisation characteristics are investigated by computer simulation and satisfactory results are obtained.
