Abstract
When rock phosphate containing F is fed to dairy cows a rise in plasma phosphatase occurs. Animals receiving on the basis of the grain ration, 0.02%, 0.04%, and 0.087% F gave the following average plasma phosphatase values, respectively: 02366, 0.2751, and 0.3366 units per cc. as compared to 0.1783 units per cc. for the controls. This response of the plasma phosphatase to F intake is regarded as an index of the degree of fluorosis in absence of complicating bone diseases. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
