Abstract
Stearic acid films show exactly the same time dependence of dielectric relaxation under step-function electric field excitation in the dark and under photo-excitation at a constant applied bias. This shows that dipolar relaxation follows the same law as relaxation of polarization due to injected charge carriers. The result has a bearing on the interpretation of experimental results involving time-dependent excitation in dielectrics. Keywords
