Abstract
A description is presented of a rapid and relatively uncomplicated method of left heart catheterization. It is possible in this manner to obtain many types of left ventricular studies and ventriculograms of diagnostic quality. A special loop-end catheter is employed, which is percutaneously introduced into the aorta and which regularly enters the left ventricle through the aortic valve except when this valve is stenosed or deformed. This entry is accomplished without apparent injury to the heart. Keywords
