Abstract
Employing an improvised Y-tube olfactometer, the responses of cockroaches to some of the more important essential oils were determined. These responses were positive or negative depending upon the oil used in each case. There was also a small percentage of reverse responses, especially when the concentration of the oil was not high. The results of these tests were tabulated individually and collectively. With the results as a starting point a satisfactory bait was developed which killed the roaches in slightly more than three hours average time. This bait is also toxic to house-infesting ants providing a little sugar is substituted in the formula. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
