Abstract
Some red rubber septa which are in widespread use as sex attractant dispensers were found to contain 1,2-dianilinoethane. This compound reacts with aldehydes applied on the septa. It can be removed from septa by hot alcohol extraction. Only extracted septa or types free of dianilinoethane should be used with sex attractants involving aldehydes to avoid false positive or false negative trapping results. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
