Abstract
The studies discussed implicate the production of active states of oxygen-including free radicals in the sequence of events leading to the induction of tumors by promoters. The peritoneal macrophage system can serve as a model system for identifying promoters and antipromoters and can be a tool in studies on the mechanism of tumor promotion. Keywords
