Abstract
E. coli was grown in synthetic culture fluid that contained inorganic salts, glucose, tryptophane, and 1 to 10 parts per ten million of [beta]-indoleacetic acid. Regardless of the conc. of the hormone within these limits, the cell division of the organism was more than doubled in the medium containing the hormone as compared with that in control tubes containing no hormone. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
