Der Hautvasokonstriktionstest am Menschen als Prüfmethode für Externkortikoide

Abstract
The effects of seven topical corticoids were compared in a series of cutaneous vasoconstriction tests, each carried out in a group of ten volunteers having similar types of skin, and whose dermal reactivity was already known. The preparations were applied, dissolved in 99% ethyl alcohol, on the flexor surfaces of the forearms of each subject in five different concentrations ranging from 10––3 to 10––7 w/w. The site of application was then covered with an occlusive dressing, which was left in place for 16 h. The degree of blanching resulting was recorded 2, 4, 8, 24, and 32 h after removal of the dressing. Cumulative analysis of the results of this series of tests on the basis of the mean effective doses (ED50) and the overall mean reaction scores for the entire observation period enabled the corticoids to be ranked as follows in ascending order of vasoconstrictive activity in relation to hydrocortisone. The mean effective doses, in particular, reveal distinct correlations with the clinical potency of these substances.
