Abstract
An automatic device for counting dry eggs of herring (Clupea harengus harengus L.) is described. The "Decca Mastercount" records the eggs as they pass a photoelectric cell and will count 10,000 herring eggs in 5 min. with an accuracy of 95%. It offers several advantages over the automatic wet methods of counting eggs. The operator is free to perform other duties and needs little training to operate the equipment. The system is adjustable to eggs of different sizes, is compact, and is easily portable. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
