Abstract
A differential refractive index detector, a flame ionization detector for liquid chromatography, and an evaporative detector are compared in terms of linearity, response factors, and detection limits. Operating conditions are also optimized in order to ensure adequate detector response. Pitch samples are analyzed by size exclusion chromatography (SEC) using the three detectors. Optimization, performances, and analytical results are discussed.
