The Role of Sodium and Sulfur in the Accelerated Oxidation Phenomena–Sulfidation

Abstract
The oxidation kinetics at 900 C (1652 F) of a sulfur impregnated, a Ni-Ni3S2 eutectic coated, and a NaNO3 coated nickel base alloy were studied. It was determined that Na2O/substrate interactions are more influential than sulfur/substrate interactions on the accelerated oxidation phenomena, sulfidation.
