Abstract
The whole eigenvalue spectrum is investigated for the nucleation of the magnetization reversal in an infinite circular cylinder, which has a uniaxial anisotropy (parallel to the cylinder axis) only in a cylindrical shell, on the surface. Numerical solution for the buckling mode is carried out for the physical parameters of acicular γ‐Fe2O3 particles, coated with CoFe2O4, and show that it is the curling mode which takes place in the experiments on such particles. The best fit to the available experimental data yields an exchange constant A≂9×10−8 erg/cm for γ‐Fe2O3.This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
