Abstract
TRANSFORMATION of living tissues into crystalline salts (petrifaction§) has interested man from the earliest times. The recorded fate of "Lot's wife" is certainly a classic example. The purpose of this paper is to present the clinical and pathological findings in a case of calcified carcinoma of the stomach and to discuss the possible pathogenesis of this rare disease.A review of the literature reveals that only 9 authentic cases have been reported, 6 in the foreign1 2 3 and 3 in the American literature.4 5 6 This is thus the tenth case to be reported; it is the third in which a post-mortem . . .Keywords
