Abstract
Pentakis (trimethylphosphite) cobalt (I) tetrafluoroborate can be prepared by reduction of Co(BF4)2 6H2O in ethanol with NaBH4 or N2H4 in the presence of five moles phosphite. The [Co(CNC6H4Cl-p) 3 {P(OCH3)3}5]BF4 prepared by para-chlorophenylisocyanide substitution in [Co{P(OCH3)3}5] BF4, in 3:1 molar ratio and deficient or excess amounts of isocyanide, is the same compound as that prepared by trimethylphosphite substitution in [Co(CNC6H4Cl-p)5]BF4.Keywords
