Abstract
Phase coding techniques are useful for lowering the dynamic range of the amplitude distribution at the hologram plane. In this paper the characteristics of the deterministic phase codes such as Frank codes and Schroeder codes are considered and a hologram is made with the phase shifter whose phase distribution is given by Frank codes. From these results the optical properties of the deterministic phase codes are made clear. Moreover Frank codes are applied to make the kinoform, and their effects are made clear when compared with random phase codes. Keywords
